Owen Sound’s Allison Chisholm Crowned Canadian National Miss 2025
Owen Sound’s Allison Chisholm has been crowned Canadian National Miss 2025, and is using her platform to promote youth literacy through her initiative, The Love and Literacy Project.
Owen Sound resident Allison Chisholm has brought home a national title, being crowned Canadian National Miss 2025 during a multi-day competition held from June 6 to 8.
The event, which brings together young women from across the country, celebrates advocacy, confidence, and community impact — values Chisholm championed through her own initiative focused on youth literacy.
A graduate of Georgian College’s Hotel & Resort Operations Management program, Chisholm currently works as the guest services manager at the Best Western Inn on the Bay, though she’s presently on maternity leave.
Beyond her professional role, she’s a passionate reader, hockey fan, and nature enthusiast — interests that also inform her approach to community service.
During the pageant weekend, participants competed in interviews, fashion wear, stage introductions, and evening gown presentations. For Chisholm, however, the standout moments came through connecting with others over shared values.
“The Canadian National Miss experience is one that is built around inclusivity,” she told Owen Sound Current. “It creates a sisterhood that is lifelong and welcoming to anyone.”
Representing Owen Sound, Chisholm used the platform to promote The Love and Literacy Project, a social media-based initiative she founded to provide free literacy resources for youth, parents, and educators. Her goal is to increase access to reading materials and promote a love for literacy across North America.
Looking ahead, Chisholm hopes to bring her message directly into classrooms and communities nationwide.
“I would love to get into communities across Canada and bring literacy back to the hands of our youth,” she said, envisioning story times, school visits, and community event appearances as part of her outreach.
Chisholm’s crowning moment — which can be viewed below — marks not just a personal milestone but a proud achievement for Owen Sound. As she takes on the title of Canadian National Miss 2025, she plans to carry her hometown spirit and her commitment to youth advocacy to communities across the country.
