Owen Sound to Host NHL Hopefuls in 2027 Connor McDavid OHL Game
Owen Sound will host the 2027 OHL Top Prospects Game, bringing top NHL Draft-eligible talent to the Bayshore on January 20, 2027.

Owen Sound has been selected to host the 2027 Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game, the Ontario Hockey League announced this week. The annual event, presented by Enbridge Gas, will take place on Wednesday, January 20, 2027, at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
The Top Prospects Game brings together the league’s top NHL Draft-eligible players in an East vs. West format. The event is a key date on the scouting calendar, drawing NHL scouts, general managers, and fans from across the hockey world.
Nearly 200 NHL scouts attended the inaugural showcase in Brantford in 2025, which was decided in overtime.
Owen Sound becomes the third host city for the league’s newest marquee event, following Brantford and Peterborough. The 2026 edition takes place this week at the Peterborough Memorial Centre and includes new additions, including a U16 Showcase and a GOHL Top Prospects Game.
League officials said in their media release on CHL.ca that Owen Sound was chosen for its strong hockey culture and history of hosting major events, including the Canada/Russia Series in 1993, Hockey Day in Canada in 2023, and the annual HockeyFest.
The Owen Sound Attack, a member of the OHL since 1989, will help organize the event and manage local coordination.
Attack season ticket holders will receive first access to tickets. Additional ticketing information and details about community events tied to the game will be released in the coming months.
