Owen Sound Police Seek Info on Armed Robbery at Eastside Convenience Store
Masked man brandishing a revolver robbed the store just before 11 p.m. and fled the area on foot; police seek witnesses, tips, or video footage.
Owen Sound Police Service is reporting this morning that a convenience store at 9th Ave E and 16th St E was robbed at gunpoint just before 11 p.m. last night, on February 21.
According to police, a white male dressed in black disguised his face with a black mask and sunglasses. He pulled a revolver-style handgun on the young female clerk and demanded that she give him all of the money.
The woman complied, and the suspect fled on foot.
The man is described as Caucasian, slim to medium build, and approximately 6 feet tall.
Owen Sound Police Service's Forensic Identification Unit is investigating. Police did not immediately confirm which convenience store this incident involved; there are two at 9th Ave E and 16th St E. They did not indicate the direction in which he is believed to have fled.
The amount of money stolen was not released.
