Owen Sound Police Seek Info After Pedestrian Dragged by Car in Hit & Run

A white car travelling north in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East in Owen Sound hit a man exiting his car and dragged him down the street before leaving the scene.

Owen Sound Police are looking for witnesses or video footage of an incident on Friday, September 6, in which a pedestrian was dragged down the road by a driver who then left the scene.

It happened in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East at approximately 2:50 p.m., according to OSPS. They say that as the man was exiting his vehicle, a white car travelling northbound “clipped” him and dragged him several feet down the street.

The female driver stopped for a red light at 9th Street East, at which time police say she “acknowledged” the man.

She left the scene without identifying herself or waiting for police to arrive.

The victim was treated for minor injuries at the Brightshores hospital in Owen Sound.
