“Baseball continues to grow in Owen Sound, and it’s exciting to see more players and families getting involved every year,” said Jesse Edmunds, President of Owen Sound Minor Baseball. “Our goal is to make sure every child who wants to play has the opportunity to be part of the game.”
Registered players are asked to visit Hometown Sports Excellence to try on jerseys and pants for sizing.
Once sizing is confirmed, families should email their player’s jersey and pant sizes to registrar@owensoundminorbaseball.com no later than March 22. Uniform orders will be placed shortly after this date to ensure players are ready for the upcoming season.
Registration for the 2026 umpire season with Owen Sound Minor Baseball is also open for both new and returning umpires. Owen Sound Minor Baseball will reimburse certification fees once an umpire receives their first pay.
To get started, prospective umpires should register through the Ontario Baseball Association, complete the required online modules, and attend the in-person umpire clinic in Owen Sound on April 18.
All umpires planning to work Owen Sound Minor Baseball games this season are also asked to complete the local registration form for scheduling and communication purposes. Questions can be directed to Umpire in Chief Alan Murray at uic@owensoundminorbaseball.com.
Owen Sound Minor Baseball is also seeking local businesses to sponsor Jr. Baysox House League teams for the 2026 season. Sponsorship provides valuable community exposure while supporting a program that promotes teamwork, discipline, and skill development for young athletes of all abilities.
Businesses interested in sponsoring a team can contact osmbsponsorship@yahoo.com.
The organization is still looking for players in several divisions:
U18 Baseball (birth years 2008–2010) – $275
U11 Girls Baseball (birth years 2014–2016) – $250
U9 Girls Baseball (birth years 2016–2018) – $250
Owen Sound Minor Baseball is also pleased to announce that its 22U team has been accepted into the North Dufferin Baseball League (NDBL) Junior Division, providing players with the opportunity to compete in one of Central Ontario’s established senior and junior hardball leagues spanning Dufferin, Simcoe, Grey, Peel, and York regions.
