Owen Sound Man Faces Multiple Charges After High-Speed Crash on County Line

An Owen Sound man is facing several charges, including uttering threats and careless driving, after a high-speed incident on the Grey Bruce Line on September 29, 2024, led to a temporary road closure.
The Grey Bruce OPP had been conducting traffic enforcement when they observed a motorcycle traveling at 129 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. After making a U-turn to follow the vehicle, officers found the motorcycle lying on its side a short distance ahead. The driver, David Ward-Stott, 31, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The charges also relate to an earlier incident on September 14, 2024, in Park Head, South Bruce Peninsula, where Ward-Stott allegedly made threats, prompting a "Be on the Lookout" (BOLO) alert issued to surrounding police agencies.
Following the collision, the Grey Bruce Line was closed between Grey Road 25 and Concession 4 of Elderslie but has since re-opened.
