Owen Sound City Council Meeting Highlights: Mon Dec 4, 2023
Deputation, Public Question Period, Staff Reports, Business Licenses, and Notice of Motion Outcomes
Mayor Ian Boddy called the December 4th meeting of Owen Sound City Council to order at 5:30pm. There was no additional business, and Councilor Jon Farmer declared a disqualifying interest in “a portion of an item on the Closed Agenda.” Councilor Brock Hamley was absent.
Council confirmed the minutes from their Nov 20 meeting with a motion from Marion Koepke seconded by Suneet Kukreja.
There was no correspondence for which the direction of council is required on the agenda, so they moved directly on to Item 6, a Public Meeting on Zoning By-law Amendment No. 51 - Housekeeping (Short-Term Rentals). You’ll find coverage from that portion of the meeting in a separate article:
Deputation: National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
Joachim Ostertag, speaking on behalf of Violence Prevention Grey Bruce, gave a deputation on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. You can view his presentation here and just after the 18:00 minute mark in the City Council meeting video recording.
