Are you looking to indulge your creative side? Join the artists of Owen Sound for the second annual self-guided Owen Sound Community Artist’s Studio Tour!
Come and learn what we do as artists, see our workspaces, ask questions, and poke around on a self-guided tour throughout the scenic city. Meet with us, browse our work, and take home wonderful memories and special treasures—paintings, glasswork, jewellery, and more.
Grey Gallery, located at 883 2nd Ave E in Owen Sound, will host a collective exhibition from September 14 to September 28, 2024, showcasing artists from the Owen Sound Community Artists’ Studio Tour (OSCAST).
This special event will offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience a diverse selection of original artworks from participating Studio Tour artists, all available for purchase.
The exhibition kicks off with an opening reception on Thursday, September 15, from 7 to 9 PM. Attendees will have a chance to meet the artists and preview the captivating artworks on display. Admission to both the exhibition and the opening reception is free and open to the public.
OSCAST celebrates its second year, highlighting the abundance of artistic talent within Owen Sound. This year’s tour promises an expanded lineup of participating artists and local events, including the Urban Easel Project—an outdoor gallery on display along the waterfront promoting art in public spaces.
“We are thrilled to showcase the remarkable talent of our local artists through this collective exhibition at Grey Gallery,” said Amelia Kraemer, one of the co-coordinators of OSCAST.
Kraemer added, “This event not only offers a glimpse into the creativity thriving in our community but also provides artists with a platform to exhibit their work in a gallery setting.”
Visitors to Grey Gallery will have the opportunity to explore a variety of artistic mediums and styles, from paintings and sculptures to photography and more, reflecting the vibrant arts scene of Owen Sound.
“We extend our sincere thanks to Grey Gallery for their generous support in fostering local art and culture,” added Caroline Tremblay, the event's additional coordinator. “We also appreciate the contributions of Heritage Place Shopping Centre and Pete’s Auto Body for their valued donations, which help make events like OSCAST possible."
Whether you’re a seasoned art enthusiast or new to the world of art, OSCAST invites everyone to participate in this celebration of creativity and community spirit.
