Ottawa Man Dies After Being Pulled from Water in Meaford
A 55-year-old man from Ottawa was pronounced dead at the scene after being pulled unresponsive from Georgian Bay near Meaford on July 30.
A 55-year-old man from Ottawa has died after being found unresponsive in the water at a waterfront property in Meaford.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Cedar Avenue, along Georgian Bay, at approximately 1:18 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30. According to the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), bystanders recovered the individual from the water and attempted CPR until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Grey County Paramedic Services and the Meaford Fire Department also responded.
The OPP has not released the man's name, and no further details about the circumstances have been provided at this time.
Grey Bruce OPP expressed thanks to members of the public and emergency responders who assisted at the scene.
