Come out to the theatre and enjoy Owen Sound Little Theatre’s third production of the season, the laugh-out-loud funny play The Play That Goes Wrong. This witty farce opens March 20, 2025 and guarantees an unforgettable night at the theatre.
Directed by John Flynn, who has previously directed OSLT productions The Game’s Afoot and The Mousetrap, this play follows the misadventures of an amateur theatre group that gets together once a year to stage a show. This year, it’s the mystery play Murder at Haversham Manor.
As the play begins, the cast are already facing a losing battle: forgotten lines, faulty props, and broken scenery make it challenging to put on a show. But then, things go from bad to worse: misunderstandings, fires, and collapsing sets make it almost impossible.
Can this amateur group defeat the odds? Or will it all go wrong?
“I have always enjoyed mysteries and farces and when I first saw a video clip of this show I knew that I wanted to do it. This show is honest with itself, it does not have a message or a grand idea to ponder. It simply wishes to make you laugh, and laugh you will. I have enjoyed every show that I have ever done with the OSLT, but I have to say that this has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences so far, and after a winter like this I think we all need a good belly laugh.” - John Flynn, Director of The Play That Goes Wrong
The production runs March 20-22 and 26-29, 2025, at 7:30pm and March 23 at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased in person at our box office, online at www.roxytheatre.ca, or by calling 519-371-2833.
