OSCAR-winning Documentary 'No Other Land' Screening at OSDSS on April 26
Film directed by a Palestinian-Israeli collective will screen locally in Bailey Hall at Owen Sound District Secondary School.
Exclusively in this area, the Academy Award-winning documentary No Other Land will be screened April 26 in Owen Sound, at 4:30 pm in Bailey Hall at Owen Sound District Secondary School.
This film, directed by a Palestinian-Israeli collective, transcends typical filmmaking, offering an unflinching, unique and vital perspective on the ongoing displacement and demolition of Palestinian homes and communities in the West Bank. No Other Land allows viewers to witness firsthand the struggles faced by Palestinians living under the constant threat of demolition and dispossession. The film's strength lies in its ability to showcase the resilience and unwavering spirit of those affected. The film provides crucial context and understanding of a long-term historically complex and often misunderstood situation.
Sponsored by Palestine Solidarity Grey-Bruce, a local collective of diverse (multi-ethnic, of multiple religious and faith backgrounds and multi-generational) members seeking to raise awareness of injustice, No Other Land has also won the Berlinale Documentary Film Award and the Panorama Audience Award.
Tickets are available for this fundraiser only in advance for $20 through Eventbrite or by e-transfer to palestinesolidaritygreybruce@gmail.com
