OPP Seeking Public Help After Early Morning Break-In Near Desboro
Grey Bruce OPP are asking for public assistance to identify a person of interest after a break-in on Sideroad 6 near Desboro that left property damage and a quantity of flooring underlay missing.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest following a break and enter at a rural residence in the Township of Chatsworth earlier this month.
According to Grey Bruce OPP, the incident happened around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at a home on Sideroad 6 near Concession Road 12, an area located just south of Desboro.
Police say the suspect damaged the property and made off with a quantity of flooring underlay before fleeing the scene.
The OPP also did not clarify the extent of the damage caused or whether the residence was occupied at the time of the break-in.
The motive behind stealing underlay—a relatively low-value construction item typically used beneath flooring—remains unclear. Police have not said whether this break-in may be linked to other recent incidents in the area.
