Safety concerns on Grey Road 1
Parts of Grey Road 1 have drawn safety complaints from residents and cyclists. Twelve days before the collision, Georgian Bluffs resident Lyssa Ireton wrote to Grey County Council asking for a traffic safety review of Grey Road 1 from Frank Street to Concession 24 — the section that runs past the Wiarton Keppel airport.
She cited vehicle speeds and aggressive passing, and asked the County to consider revised pavement markings, more enforcement and speed-feedback signs.
OPP have not identified a cause in the July 6 collision, and no link has been established between it and those concerns.
