OPP Seek Two Men in Meaford Counterfeit Currency Investigation
Grey Bruce OPP release images of two men they wish to identify in connection with a Meaford counterfeit money investigation after fake $20 bills were nearly passed at a Circle K store.
The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two men in connection with an investigation into the attempted use of counterfeit currency in Meaford.
The incident took place just after midnight on Saturday, July 2, 2025, at the Circle K convenience store in Meaford.
According to police, two unidentified men entered the store and attempted to make purchases using counterfeit $20 bills. The store clerk recognized the bills as fake and declined the transaction.
The men then completed their purchase using legitimate currency. Police have not confirmed whether the individuals were aware the bills were counterfeit, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Images of the suspects have been released as part of the effort to identify them. The Grey Bruce OPP is urging anyone who can recognize the individuals or who has any information related to the case to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
