I’ve just finished another round of Event Listings updates, and WOW, is there ever a lot going on in and around Owen Sound! 🎆
On top of recurring events like bachata lessons and drum circles at Harmony Centre, Solidarity Sundays potlucks, Legion Bingo, and Jazzmyn’s Open Mic Nights, there are all kinds of Halloween events these next two weeks.
👻 Fancy a séance? The Billy Bishop Museum is hosting one, complete with wine and optional psychic readings.
😈 Parkwood Restaurant is hosting an Emo Night.
🎸 Pick Up Game is playing a ‘Shiver & Shaker’ party at Heartwood Hall.
🎞️ And Grey Roots Museum is hosting a “fright night” premiere of the latest film from the Collingwood Film Co.
November brings us dances and karaoke, educational workshops and seminars, comedy shows, yoga classes, Roxy Theatre performances, tribute concerts, Christmas sales, and fundraisers of all kinds for local groups and institutions. At last count, we had 45 events listed for next month, and we typically add 4-5 more each week as we receive submissions and find announcements.
I wasn’t quite ready for this, but had to add a “2025” subheading to our events, as local organizations and businesses are already announcing concerts and performances into January. ‘Tis the season!
Listen, there’s no need to be bored in Owen Sound.
I had no idea how much was going on until I started curating these events from every source I could find. Want to see your upcoming event added to our Event Listings? They’re available to full subscribers 24/7 on OwenSoundCurrent.com, with the next several days’ events included in each weekday news brief.
Send us key event details (event name, date, time, cost) and, ideally, a link where readers can find more information. Try to give 2+ weeks lead time. Email to owensoundcurrenteditor@gmail.com.
