After an early lead and an energetic back-and-forth game, the Owen Sound Attack lost 5-4 to the London Knights in sudden death overtime.

I’m pleased to bring you a literary-focused news brief today. October is Canadian Library Month, and upcoming events in Grey and Bruce counties give you several opportunities to engage with local authors.

Starting on Friday, October 18, you can connect with over 30 authors over two days at the Library in Owen Sound. They’re hosting the Local Author Book Fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. those two days.

The Bruce County Public Library celebrates this October with a series of author events at their Chesley, Walkerton, and Kincardine branches. The popular Read Local Event takes place at the Kincardine branch on October 23 at 5:30 p.m. and gives you a chance to connect with six talented local authors.

The Owen Sound Current is celebrating, too, as we approach our one-year anniversary on November 1.

Writers’ Fund Sponsors and Founding Members – save the date, October 29 at 7pm, and watch for a special invite in your inboxes this week!
