North Bruce Peninsula Man Charged With Impaired Driving After Collision on Stokes Bay Road
North Bruce Peninsula resident charged with impaired driving following October 13 collision; court date set for November 6 in Owen Sound.
One man faces impaired driving charges after swerving to avoid a deer near Stokes Bay and hitting a pole instead.
The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on October 13, 2025, at about 8:10 p.m. According to police, the driver swerved to avoid a deer, lost control, and struck a telephone pole. No injuries were reported.
Police have charged 58-year-old Scott Blight of Northern Bruce Peninsula with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – 80 plus.
As required under Ontario law, a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were issued.
Blight has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 6, 2025.
