An unforgettable evening of intrigue, laughter, and community spirit is coming to Harmony Centre Owen Sound with Murder in the Commons — an immersive dinner theatre experience where guests are invited to solve a mystery while supporting a vital local hub.
On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Harmony Centre will be transformed into a lively scene of suspense and humour. The evening begins with a reception in The Commons featuring live jazz music, drinks, and hors d'oeuvres, before guests move into the Greaves Auditorium for a three-course dinner and a twisting, interactive whodunit.
Murder in the Commons promises to be a night to remember with colourful characters, unexpected encounters, and plenty of laughs.
But behind the fun lies a deeper purpose.
Harmony Centre has become one of the region's most active community spaces,
welcoming tens of thousands of visits each year. While worth celebrating, this success has also brought increased wear and tear to the historic building. Floors are in need of replacement, and roof repairs are becoming increasingly urgent.
"This event is about bringing people together for a great night out, but it’s also about sustaining a space that so many people rely on," says Jeff Elie, Chair of Harmony Centre. "Every ticket purchased helps us keep up with the demands on the building and ensures that Harmony Centre remains a vibrant, accessible place for the community."
Guests are encouraged to embrace the evening's noir-inspired theme by dressing in vintage '40s or '50s style, adding to the immersive atmosphere.
