Good morning from across the pond, readers. We’re reporting this week from Edinburgh, where the three men accused in the 2023 killing of Owen Sound restaurateur Sharif Rahman are set to appear in court Monday for the start of their full extradition hearing.

Owen Sound Homicide Case Returns to Scottish Court as Full Extradition Hearing Set to Begin
The extradition hearings beginning this week mark a pivotal stage in a case that has stretched across two continents and more than two years. The court’s eventual decision will determine whether the Evans men are returned to Canada to face trial in connection with Rahman’s death.
Note: I realized immediately after hitting “Publish” last night that the subtitle said the men were from Ontario vs. the UK. That’s been corrected for the web version, but we can’t rewind the email. Apologies for any confusion… my brain knew what it meant, but typing fingers didn’t get the memo.
