Welcome back, Owen Sounders. Let’s start this week off on the right foot, with an inspiring story of local collaboration.
When a nursery offered 24 mature native trees at no cost, NeighbourWoods North had to move quickly. With rapid support from Georgian Bluffs, RF King Excavating, hospital staff, and volunteers, they turned a last-minute offer into a completed planting project in just weeks.
In today’s letter to the editor, Chair Lloyd Lewis shares how cooperation, flexibility, and a willingness to cut through red tape make even ambitious community improvements possible.

Owen Sound Council meets today at 3 p.m. to host the first Public Meeting on Official Plan Amendment No. 14, then make revisions. See the agenda and reports here.
Owen Sound Council’s regular meeting then begins at 5:30 p.m. On their agenda: the second public meeting regarding Official Plan Amendment No. 14, hours after the first. Community members will have only an hour or two to digest and respond to any plan amendments. Council will also hear a request for a noise bylaw exemption from the BCK lot developers.
