Over the past few years, Joan Beecroft has become quite the collector and curator of community stories.
She’s brought us Things That Used To Matter, a collection of 32 post-COVID essays; A Place to Belong: Stories from Newcomers to Grey and Bruce, and 20/20 Hindsight: Being Gay* in Bruce and Grey.
Now, Joan is accepting personal essays for her upcoming book, tentatively titled ‘Aging in Place: Is It for Everyone?’ This call for writers is open until December 15, and you can learn more about what she’s looking for here.
For paid subscribers, we have news stories and curated headlines below, plus our full event listings and a few upcoming performances and concerts you may want to see.
