Readers and authors packed the OSNGUPL auditorium on Saturday for the launch of ‘People of a Place: Exploring the Idea of Being Canadian in Grey-Bruce,’ an anthology with 31 local contributors, compiled by Joan Beecroft and published by Ginger Press (full disclosure: Ginger Press also publishes Owen Sound Current). Beecroft will join host and anthology contributor Dave Carr on the 89.3 CFOS FM Open Line this morning to talk about the project.

We kick this week off with a new letter to the editor.

Meaford-area resident Norah Beatty is questioning the province’s recent $4.2 million primary care funding announcement for Bruce and Grey counties, arguing it does not go far enough to address ongoing doctor shortages and broader healthcare challenges.

In this letter, Beatty raises concerns about access to family doctors, the role of nurse practitioners, healthcare privatization, and recent provincial legislation she says weakens accountability.
