41-year-old Christopher Fraser charged with break and enter and theft under $5000
A Meaford man has been charged following a late-night break and enter at the LCBO on Nelson Street West.
At approximately 11:13 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break-and-enter at the liquor store. Upon arrival, officers found the front entrance glass had been smashed.
Members of the OPP Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
As a result, Christopher Fraser, 41, of Meaford, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Break & Enter – Criminal Code Section 348(1)(b)
Theft Under $5,000 – Criminal Code Section 334(b)
Fraser is scheduled to appear in the Owen Sound Court of Justice on February 27, 2025, to answer to the charges.
It was the second time in weeks the Meaford LBCO was targeted. On January 14, the OPP reported a man had stolen over $1,000 worth of alcohol from the location. In that case, police linked the suspect to similar thefts across the province.
