This Saturday is stacked with reasons to get out and take part in the community, from yard sales and creative fixes to art talks and live music that’ll carry you late into the evening.
NeighbourWoods North is running a fundraiser yard sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1625 7th Avenue East. Money raised will go toward planting more trees in the city.
The Repair Café is back from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Owen Sound North Grey Union Library. Volunteers will be on hand with tools and skills to fix broken household items—everything from bicycles to DVD players to torn jeans. If you can carry it in and it’s not gasoline or microwave-powered, they’ll try to fix it.
There’s also an artist talk at 2 p.m. at Grey Gallery with photographers Eric Busch and Andrew Mielzinski.
And in the evening, take your pick. Stoney Lonesome—one of Canada’s top bluegrass bands—plays the Harmony Centre, joined by local trio the Hummingbyrds. You can also catch The Caverners at the Roxy, The Flamingos at Heartwood, and CATL at Parkwood.
