In light of the volatile trade situation unfolding between Canada and the United States, Bluewater District School Board is joining the growing movement to buy Canadian whenever possible. The board has unanimously approved a motion to prioritize procuring Canadian products wherever feasible and immediately transition away from purchasing from American suppliers. Source: BWDSB

With grocery prices high and many of us trying to buy Canadian, we need recipes that make the most of what’s in season or on sale. This week in his Community Kitchen column, Trevor Schwandt from CMHA’s Fresh Roots shares a roasted veggie hash recipe that’s as versatile as it is delicious.

It’s a simple method you can adapt based on what’s available, whether that means potatoes and carrots from a local farm, zucchini and bell peppers from your own garden, or zucchini and beets on sale at the grocery store.

Roast it, air fry it, or pan-fry it, and pair it with eggs, grains, or beans to turn it into a full meal.

• Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority warning: “Many SVCA recreational trails are not safe for use due to icy sections, flooding, fallen trees, and the risk of falling branches from high winds. Not all trails have been marked closed on site, so please avoid use. We will provide updates as conditions change.”
