As The Owen Sound Current approaches 18 months in community journalism, we want to take a moment to thank you—our readers, our supporters, and the community that makes this work possible. Because of you, we’ve built something special:
📌 Over 1,700 articles in our archives, including dozens of community submissions and hundreds of weekday news briefs like this one.
🌍 Readers in 23 countries, including former residents and those who love to visit.
👥 More than 50,000 individual readers each month.
At other publications I’ve worked with, numbers like these would have sales scrambling for new ways to sell ad space. Not here. From day one, The Owen Sound Current and our publisher, The Ginger Press, committed to being community-supported, not ad-driven.
And 18 months later, we’re proud to say that promise still stands.
