This morning, we start with a reminder that navigating Owen Sound’s streets and sidewalks isn’t easy for everyone.
In this letter to the editor, resident Deborah Boekestein shares her firsthand experience as a wheelchair user facing daily obstacles due to inaccessible curbs and crosswalks.
She calls on city officials to reassess infrastructure and improve accessibility, particularly in areas heavily populated by seniors and people with disabilities. With the disbandment of the Accessibility Committee, she urges the city to listen to those trying to communicate real concerns to them before more residents are left stranded on their own streets.
