Lane Reductions Expected as 32nd Street East Watermain Replacement Begins
Lane reductions begin Sept. 8 on 32nd Street East in Owen Sound for watermain replacement, with work expected to continue through mid-November.
Watermain replacement work is set to begin Monday, September 8, in the area of East Bayshore Road and 32nd Street East. Motorists should expect lane reductions through mid-November.
The project covers the intersection of East Bayshore Road and 32nd Street East, extending along 32nd Street East to 9th Avenue East, with a small section of 9th Avenue East also included. No full road closures are planned.
Bridge Excavating has been contracted to carry out the work. The budget for the project is $1.72 million, funded through Ontario’s Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund.
The City of Owen Sound advises drivers to use caution and allow extra time when travelling in the construction area.
