JUNO-Winning Jazz Vocalist Caity Gyorgy to Headline Leith Summer Festival Gala Concert
Caity Gyorgy brings her vintage jazz flair to the Historic Leith Church on June 28. Featuring pianist Mark Limacher, the Penderecki String Quartet, and bassist Joe Phillips.
Three-time JUNO Award-winning jazz vocalist Caity Gyorgy will headline this summer’s Gala Jazz Concert at the Historic Leith Church on Friday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m., as part of the Leith Summer Festival’s 2025 concert series.
Known for her velvety tone and playful stage presence, Gyorgy has gained national acclaim for her throwback vocal style rooted in 1950s bebop and swing.
Her performance in Leith promises an evening of lush arrangements, blending jazz standards and classical influence in the acoustically rich setting of the 1865 stone church.
The concert will feature Gyorgy alongside her long-time collaborator, pianist Mark Limacher, with accompaniment by the Penderecki String Quartet and bassist Joe Phillips.
In addition to jazz standards, the program will include Limacher’s original jazz reinterpretations of melodies by Tchaikovsky and Borodin, offering a unique fusion of genres for festivalgoers.
The Leith Summer Festival, a non-profit charitable organization, hosts this event to support the maintenance of the Historic Leith Church and to bring world-class music to the Grey-Bruce region. The venue is air-conditioned and offers intimate, cushioned seating.
