The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is proud to announce the opening of its newest exhibit, Homage: Inspired by Outstanding Canadian Women, with a special launch event on Saturday, May 31.
Homage is a powerful and visually stunning national touring exhibition that honours Canadian women across generations and professions — mothers and artists, business leaders and philanthropists, actors and athletes, inventors and scientists.
Through a series of intricately designed, framed neckpieces, the exhibit pays tribute to the diversity, strength and creativity of women who have shaped Canada’s story.
Created by acclaimed metal artist Don Stuart, C.M., O.Ont., RCA, the collection features handcrafted necklaces accompanied by original sketches and compelling biographical narratives.
After captivating audiences from Yukon to Nova Scotia, Homage arrives in Bruce County to continue its cross-country celebration of Canadian excellence and inspiration.
“This is more than an art exhibit. It’s a national tribute,” says Cathy McGirr, museum director. “We’re thrilled to bring this meaningful and visually rich collection to our community and invite everyone to experience the stories behind these remarkable women.”
The exhibit opening takes place Saturday, May 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton, Ontario. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Guests are encouraged to RSVP online at www.brucemuseum.ca or by calling 519-797-2080.
