Hanover Community Players are holding auditions this week for their fall production of Between the Lines, a musical adaptation of the young adult novel by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer.
Auditions run Sunday, May 31 and Monday, June 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 356 9th Street, at the corner of 9th Street and 11th Avenue in Hanover. Callbacks may take place Wednesday, June 3. Auditioners are asked to enter the auditorium from the 11th Avenue side.
The production is casting roles for teens and adults, with additional ensemble spots available. Registration and audition details are posted on the Hanover Community Players website.
Between the Lines follows Delilah McPhee, a teenager who retreats into a children’s fairytale after her parents divorce and a schoolyard incident leaves her socially isolated. The story takes a turn when the word “Help” appears on the page of her favourite book — and then vanishes.
The musical features music by Elyssa Samsel, lyrics by Kate Anderson, and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald and Jodi Picoult. It premiered off-Broadway in 2022.
Performances are scheduled for November 27 to 29 and December 3 to 6, 2026 at the Hanover Community Players theatre, 443 10th Avenue.
