Fundraiser at Grey Roots to Support Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey
Psychic medium and grief educator Ursula Darby brings Messages from Spirit to Grey Roots on Sept. 27, raising funds for Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey.

An afternoon of storytelling, spirit communication, and grief education will take place at Grey Roots Museum & Archives later this month in support of Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey.
The fundraiser, titled Messages from Spirit, is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets are $60, with a portion of proceeds directed to the Owen Sound–based nonprofit, which provides shelter and support for women and children fleeing violence.
Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey operates a shelter and outreach services for survivors of gender-based violence. The organization offers crisis support, advocacy, transitional housing, and programs that help women and their children build safer futures.
The event will be led by Ursula Darby, a Toronto-based public speaker, certified grief educator, and psychic medium. Darby has hosted similar programs for more than two decades, describing them as a blend of spirit readings, grief education, and humour drawn from her years as a stand-up comic.
Her work has been featured on Crave, CTV, TVO, and radio stations across Ontario, earning her recognition as both an entertaining and compassionate voice in conversations about grief and healing.
“Grief is universal, and people need to be met where they are in it,” Darby said. “This event isn’t just about spirit communication. It’s about education, community, and creating meaningful support — both for the people in the room and for women and children in crisis across Grey and Bruce Counties.”
Organizers say the afternoon will offer participants a chance to engage with themes of loss and resilience in a supportive setting, while raising funds for local services.
