Happy Friday, Readers.
We begin today as we always do in the run-up to the weekend: by taking a look back at your most-read stories and submissions from this week.
Next, the Ontario Provincial Police have a message for those hitting the road this long weekend. Over last year’s Civic Day long weekend, OPP say unsafe choices resulted in 3,514 speeding charges, 512 seatbelt related charges, 77 distracted driving charges and 204 impaired driving charges on Ontario roadways. There were also nine vehicle related fatalities on the long weekend.
Pay attention, wear a seatbelt, slow down, drive sober and remember to move over for emergency vehicles out there.
Read on for your weather, obituaries, local events, and news updates out of Owen Sound, the Saugeen Peninsula, West Grey, Tiverton and Kincardine, Hanover, Meaford, and more.
