Did you hear that?
All day yesterday, in every interaction downtown and around Owen Sound, I heard a collective sigh of relief.
Just ahead of Summerfolk and the terrible one-year anniversary of the August 17 assault that took Sharif Rahman’s life, we are beginning to have answers.
Not all of the answers – but less of the not-knowing. And so the next stage in the healing process can begin.
Sharif’s positive impact on the community continues, and yesterday, emerged again in hugs, tears, kind words, and shared hope among his friends and community members.
Our thoughts remain with his wife, Shayela, their daughter, his family near and far, and all who were blessed to know Sharif for the too-short time he was with us.
