Flesherton Man Charged With Impaired Driving Without Licence After Crash in Grey Highlands
A Flesherton man faces impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash in Grey Highlands. He had no valid driver’s licence, police say.
A 30-year-old Flesherton man is facing impaired driving and other charges following a single-vehicle crash in Grey Highlands that left him and two passengers with minor injuries.
Grey Bruce OPP were called to 8th Concession A, just west of Grey Road 2, at approximately 3:28 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29. Police say the vehicle, carrying three occupants, left the roadway in a crash that did not involve any other vehicles. All three were fortunate to escape without major injuries.
The driver, identified as Robert Young of Flesherton, was arrested at the scene and is now facing several charges under both the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act, including:
Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
Operation While Impaired – 80 Plus
Dangerous Operation
Drive No Licence
Young did not hold a valid driver’s licence at the time of the collision, police confirmed. As required under Ontario law, his licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The OPP did not disclose what led to the crash or whether contributing factors such as speed, distraction, or road conditions were involved. Police did not release the passengers' ages or their relationship to the driver.
Young was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 20, 2025.
