It’s shaping up to be a lively weekend in Owen Sound, with events for theatre lovers, history buffs, sports fans, and those looking to support local businesses and community initiatives.
One highlight is the Rumpus Room Benefit on Saturday night at Parkwood Restaurant, featuring DJs Trash Gordon and Strobe, plus a silent auction to help cover the restaurant’s closure due to a burst pipe.
The Owen Sound Current is proud to support this event by donating a one-year subscription—bid on it for yourself or gift it to a friend. It’s a great way to support a local business and independent journalism while staying informed about everything happening in our region.
Other weekend events include "Prelude to a Kiss" at The Roxy Theatre, a Black History Month celebration and speaker at the Library, a Lunar New Year event at Grey Roots, and a Repair Café to give new life to broken items.
Hockey fans can catch the Owen Sound Attack at home against North Bay on Saturday and Kingston on Sunday. And if you’re looking for a relaxed way to close out the weekend, Solidarity Sundays at the Harmony Centre and a Super Bowl Potluck at the Legion offer a chance to gather with the community.
Whatever your plans, enjoy the weekend, and we’ll see you out and about in Owen Sound! Full subscribers — don’t forget, you can see all upcoming events on our website.
