Yesterday, we asked about your concerns with the current provincial election process. An early look at results, with 100 responses registered, shows that 20% of you are struggling with the short election cycle and feel there isn’t enough time to consider all information.
Another 20% unfortunately indicated you simply don’t trust the political system, a sentiment that certainly isn’t unique to our region but is troubling nonetheless.
The good news is that 41% of readers told us you’re ready to cast your ballot. Why wait? You can vote right now—learn more in our 2025 Provincial Election Guide.
For those 14% who indicated you may have difficulty accessing polling stations, I urge you to read Elections Ontario’s guide to accessible voting. In addition to the accessibility aids and assistive voting technologies available in a dozen polling stations throughout Grey and Bruce, those who cannot access a polling station can request to vote at their home or hospital.
Reach out to the local election office at 1-(833) 505-3398 before February 26 to request that assistance.
Now, as essential as they are, elections aren’t the only way we build our community. That brings us to this new community contribution.
Opinion
