Ejaye McComb Fills Georgian Bluffs Council Vacancy Left by Former Councillor Ryan Thompson
After reviewing 15 applicants, Georgian Bluffs Council voted to appoint Ejaye McComb to fill a vacant council seat at a special meeting October 15.
Georgian Bluffs Council has appointed Ejaye McComb to fill the vacant council seat left by former Councillor Ryan Thompson, who resigned in September to become the Township’s new Chief Administrative Officer.
The decision came at a special meeting held on October 15, following a public application process that drew significant interest from residents.
The Township received 15 applications before the October 9 deadline. Applicants were required to meet eligibility criteria and were invited to deliver short presentations before council made its decision in closed session.
McComb, who has lived in Georgian Bluffs for 16 years and resides south of Kilsyth, brings extensive experience in the technology sector, with a background in operations, product management, and finance.
Alongside his professional career, he has been active in community organizations, serving as Vice Chair of the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce. He previously volunteered with Tara Minor Soccer and Chatsworth Minor Hockey, where he served as president for four years.
Council’s vote to appoint McComb concludes a month-long process to fill the vacancy. He will be sworn in at a special council meeting on November 5.
Mayor Sue Carleton thanked all applicants for stepping forward and noted the high level of community engagement throughout the process.
The list of certified applicants, meeting agendas, and minutes are available on the Township’s website at georgianbluffs.ca/council.
