Driver Charged with Stunt Driving While 3 Children Unrestrained in Passenger Seat
A Brockton driver is facing multiple charges after police observed a dangerous incident involving children in the vehicle.
A 35-year-old Brockton resident is facing serious charges after police say a driver was seen performing dangerous maneuvers on a rural road with three young children unsecured in the front seat.
Shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, an officer with the South Bruce OPP spotted a vehicle fishtailing and doing a “burnout” along Sideroad 10 South in the Municipality of Brockton.
Police stopped the vehicle and found three children in the front passenger area — none of them wearing seatbelts or in car seats.
The driver was charged with performing a stunt under the Highway Traffic Act, as well as three counts of failing to ensure child passengers were properly secured.
The name and gender of the accused were not released, nor were the ages of the children involved; they were simply described by police as “young.” The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days, and the driver’s licence has been suspended for 30 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Walkerton on August 5, 2025.
