Driver Charged With Impaired After Striking Hydro Pole on Hwy 26 Near Meaford
A South Bruce Peninsula woman faces impaired driving and drug charges following a crash on Highway 26 near Meaford.
A South Bruce Peninsula resident is facing impaired driving and drug possession charges following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 26 near the 6th Concession in the Municipality of Meaford.
According to Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers were called to the scene on October 28, 2025, at approximately 6:53 p.m., after receiving a report from a concerned motorist who observed a vehicle swerving erratically before it struck a telephone pole. No injuries were reported, and the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Following the investigation, police arrested 54-year-old Julie Napper of South Bruce Peninsula. She has been charged with:
Operation While Impaired – Drug
Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
As per statutory requirements, a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were also imposed.
Napper has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 13, 2025.
