Here’s what you need to know from Owen Sound City Council’s December 2, 2024, meeting.
Council approved several requests, including allocating $100,000 in the 2025 budget to the first stage of ‘Vision 2050’ implementation and adding the fire station renovation project to the 2025–2029 Capital Plan.
However, Council voted against a proposal to develop a private tree stewardship plan and also rejected a motion to postpone the decision to gather more information.
Other highlights included awarding a $533,000 contract for expanded animal control services, approving a water meter replacement program, and enacting a by-law for the 2025 interim tax levy.
