Convicted Murderer Prison Escapee May Be in Bruce County: OPP
Lori Bill Germa, a convicted murderer and escapee from Archambault Institution in Quebec, is believed to be in Southwestern Ontario and may be in South Bruce or Hanover, according to OPP.
South Bruce OPP issued a warning Sunday that a convicted murderer who has escaped from a Quebec prison may be in Southwestern Ontario — specifically in the South Bruce or Hanover areas.
Lori Bill Germa, 69, was convicted of first-degree murder in 1992. South Bruce OPP say they were advised on July 6 by Surete du Quebec Police Service that Germa escaped the Laurentians-area prison a day earlier.
A notice from Correctional Service Canada (CSC) states: “On July 5, 2025, during the 10 p.m. count in the minimum-security unit at Archambault Institution, a multi-level security federal institution, staff members discovered that Lori Bill Germa was not accounted for.”
According to CSC, Germa has a fair complexion, brown eyes and no hair. He stands 5’10”, weighs 166 lbs, and has several tattoos including a sword with the name “Carol” on his right arm, and two seahorses and two dragons on his right arm. He has a scar on his left leg.
South Bruce OPP added that he is a Metis man and has other tattoos, including a flying skull, the Grim Reaper, and a cloud and lightning bolts.
Their Crime Unit is now assisting in the investigation, according to the public notice, and OPP believe Germa may be in the South Bruce or Hanover areas. The service offered no further explanation or detail.
Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating this fugitive. If observed, do not approach the subject, and immediately contact police at 9-1-1.
