Choir Camp 2025 is inviting conductors, teachers, singers, and musicians in Grey and Bruce counties to attend a “Conducting 101” workshop with Dr. Elaine Choi and Dr. Mark Ramsay on Thursday, July 17, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The workshop will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 865 2nd Ave W in Owen Sound. There is no charge to attend this event, but participants are asked to sign up using the online registration form.
The “Conducting 101” workshop will offer a practical introduction to the role of the conductor. Together, participants will explore what conducting gestures communicate, how they guide music-making and shape expression, and how conductors and choristers can build clearer, more responsive connections.
The session will include demonstrations, opportunities for hands-on exploration, and time for questions and discussion.
