COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION
The prestigious Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance once again brought together classic car enthusiasts and the Owen Sound community for a weekend filled with stunning vehicles and generous fundraising. Held over two days, the event welcomed thousands of attendees and showcased a wide array of automobiles, all while raising significant funds for healthcare foundations.
On Saturday, the festivities kicked off in downtown Owen Sound with the Cars & Coffee event, presented by Brackett Auto Group. Over 140 vehicles were on display, drawing in local and visiting car enthusiasts.
The event also saw a $25,000 donation made to the Brightshores Health System Foundation to support the purchase of essential medical equipment.
A fun twist on the weekend's lineup, the Concours d’Lemons celebrated 40 quirky and often unloved vehicles, adding a touch of humor to the elegance that followed.
Saturday also featured two packed seminars at the Roxy Theatre, where attendees demonstrated a strong interest in automotive history and preservation. The day concluded with a Collector Dinner Reception and a live auction, raising an impressive $100,000 for the Sunnybrook Foundation’s Gary Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre.
Sunday's main event at the Cobble Beach Golf Resort saw 110 hand-selected vehicles displayed on the scenic 18th fairway, attracting a crowd of 7,500 attendees from across Canada and the United States. The show, now in its 10th year, remains Canada’s premier classic car event.
Organizers tell us this year, they welcomed visitors from provinces as far as British Columbia, Newfoundland and the United States, including Florida, North Carolina, and Michigan. In addition to the car show, 20 exhibitor booths enhanced the atmosphere, contributing to the event's lively and vibrant feel.
Over the past decade, the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance has raised over $1,000,000 for healthcare foundations, including the Brightshores Health System Foundation and the Sunnybrook Foundation. This year’s proceeds will continue to support the Gary Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre, which advances treatments for dementia, stroke, and mood and anxiety disorders.
With its unique blend of elegance, community spirit, and charitable giving, the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance continues to be a highlight of the classic car calendar in Canada.
