Commercial Driver Charged With Impaired After Early Morning Crash Closes Highway 10
John Logan, 41, of West Grey, has been charged with impaired operation after a crash on Highway 10 in Chatsworth Township. He is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound court on April 17, 2025.
A section of Highway 10 in Chatsworth Township was briefly closed early Wednesday morning following a crash involving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
According to the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the incident occurred at approximately 4:31 a.m. on March 26, 2025. Officers responded to a report of a CMV that had collided with a hydro pole.
Upon arrival, officers observed signs of impairment in the driver, who was transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for further assessment by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old John Logan of West Grey has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs.
No injuries were reported, but the crash caused a temporary closure of Highway 10 for a few hours while emergency crews cleared the scene. The road has since been reopened.
In accordance with provincial regulations, the accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Logan is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on April 17, 2025.
The OPP reminds drivers that impairment—whether by alcohol or drugs—poses a serious danger on the road.
