The Choir of St. John’s Elora will perform a program of double-choir works at Georgian Shores United Church in Owen Sound on Friday, June 6 at 2:30 p.m. Admission is by suggested donation of $20 at the door.
The concert, titled Deep Calls to Deep: Music for Double Choir, features Josef Rheinberger’s Cantus Missae (Mass in E flat for Double Choir), new commissions from composers Sarah Quartel and Roderick Williams, and works by Eric Whitacre, Caroline Shaw and Charles Wood.
Founded in the mid-1980s, the Elora-based choir is a professional ensemble specializing in sacred choral music. It provides musical leadership for services at St. John’s Anglican Church in Elora and performs concerts throughout south-central Ontario. Patrick Murray has directed the choir since 2021.
