Chi-Cheemaun’s Spring Repositioning Cruise Returns May 1 to Launch 2025 Sailing Season
Chi-Cheemaun’s Spring Repositioning Cruise sails May 1 from Owen Sound to Tobermory. Tickets on sale April 2.
The annual return of the Chi-Cheemaun’s Spring Repositioning Cruise is a sure sign that spring has arrived in Grey-Bruce, and this year, the much-loved voyage is set for May 1, 2025.
Departing from Owen Sound Harbour, the one-way trip to Tobermory marks the start of the Chi-Cheemaun’s sailing season. Known for selling out quickly, the four-and-a-half-hour cruise offers passengers a relaxed afternoon on the water, complete with a lunch buffet that includes the ferry’s traditional roast beef.
This annual repositioning cruise is unique in that it’s a single-direction trip, designed to move the vessel into place for its regular Tobermory-South Baymouth route for the summer. Only foot passengers are permitted on board, and return transportation to Owen Sound is provided by school bus at no extra cost.
