Charlie Angus Brings 'Elbows Up / Resistance Tour' to Owen Sound This September
Charlie Angus will speak in Owen Sound on September 13 as part of his national Resistance Tour. The event at the Harmony Centre will support OSHaRE and feature guest speakers and public dialogue.

Charlie Angus, longtime Member of Parliament, author, and former frontman of the Canadian punk band L’Étranger, is bringing his Elbows Up / Resistance Tour to Owen Sound on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
The event will take place at the Harmony Centre in downtown Owen Sound, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the program starting at 7:00 p.m. Angus' tour promotes grassroots resistance to growing disinformation, authoritarianism, and inequality in Canada.
The evening will be hosted by Michael McLuhan and will include guest speaker Trish Meekins. Organizers describe the tour as a call to action and an opportunity for community dialogue during a critical moment in Canadian public life.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at CharlieAngusOwenSound.eventbrite.ca. A pay-what-you-can option is also available by request at GreyBruceFriendsOfCharlieAngus@gmail.com, with organizers noting that no one will be turned away due to cost.
Proceeds from the event will go to support OSHaRE (Owen Sound Hunger and Relief Effort), a local organization that provides free meals and essential support to people in need.
For those unable to attend in Owen Sound, a second event will take place the night before in Port Elgin on Friday, September 12 at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre. Inquiries about that event can be directed to CharlieAngusPortElgin@gmail.com.
Media requests, interviews, and community listing inquiries for either event can be sent to GreyBruceFriendsOfCharlieAngus@gmail.com.
