Camping and Boating Permits Now Available for 2025 Salmon Spectacular
Camping and boating permits for the 2025 Salmon Spectacular are now available, with new harbourfront rules in effect. Book online to secure your spot.
The 2025 Salmon Spectacular will take place in Owen Sound from Friday, August 22, to Sunday, August 31. The City is reminding participants to secure camping and boating permits in advance, as new rules are in effect this year.
A Fish Derby Camping (FDC) permit system has been introduced to manage harbourfront space during the Salmon Spectacular and The Sound Charity Shootout.
The permit allows overnight camping in specified areas along the inner harbour wall between noon on Wednesday, August 20, and noon on Monday, September 1.

The cost is $150 per vehicle. Permits are sold first-come, first-served and are available online at OwenSound.ca/FDC or in person at City Hall. Only registered participants in one of the two derbies are eligible.
Campers who prefer traditional campgrounds can book sites at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park or Harrison Park at OwenSound.ca/Camping.
Boat launch passes for the East Side and West Side facilities can also be purchased online at OwenSoundBoatLaunch.ca. Day passes cost $10 plus HST, while season passes (valid until October 2025) are $100 plus HST. Both launches have trailer parking, washrooms, and access to the waterfront trail.
Maps, rules, and booking links for all camping and boating options are available through the City’s website.
