Bruce Power Opens 2025 Scholarship Applications for Post-Secondary Students in Bruce, Grey and Huron
Applications are open until June 15 for Bruce Power’s annual scholarship program, offering $500 awards to 100 post-secondary students across Bruce, Grey and Huron counties.
Bruce Power is once again offering post-secondary scholarships for students from Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties. The company will award 100 scholarships valued at $500 each to successful applicants who plan to attend college, university, or a skilled trades program during the 2025–2026 academic year.
The application window is now open and will close on June 15.
“We believe that by investing in education in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties, we are supporting our communities and investing in our future,” said John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and Media Relations and Economic Development.
“By enabling students to pursue their goals, we also hope that some of them will return to our region and help power the next generation of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Clean Energy Frontier.”
The $50,000 program is divided into several categories:
40 scholarships for full-time university students
35 scholarships for community or technical college students
15 scholarships for self-identified members of diverse populations, including Indigenous students, persons with disabilities, and visible minorities
10 scholarships for students with special considerations, such as mature students, Crown wards, first-generation students, or graduate students
Applicants must complete an online application and meet eligibility requirements. Recipients will be notified by July 15. Full details and application forms are available through Bruce Power’s website.
Additional Awards for Secondary and Elementary Students
Bruce Power is also contributing an additional $25,000 in awards through participating schools:
High school graduation awards:
Women in Trades Award: $500 to a female student pursuing a career in the trades or engineering
Future Innovator Award: $500 to a student excelling in STEM and pursuing related post-secondary studies
Elementary school awards:
$100 Grade 8 Science and Technology Award per school, recognizing students who excel in science and demonstrate classroom leadership and diligence
These school-based awards are managed directly by individual schools and do not require an application to Bruce Power.
Indigenous Scholarships
Bruce Power also offers additional scholarships for Indigenous youth in the region, providing financial support to encourage post-secondary achievement. More information on Indigenous scholarships is available on the company’s website.
